Our Church
About Us
First Mennonite Church of Reedley, California is a multi-cultural congregation anchored in an Anabaptist faith understanding. FMC is over 100 years old. Our church resonates with Palmer Becker's quick synopsis of Christian faith from an Anabaptist perspective when he posits that "Jesus is the center of our faith, community is the center of our lives, and reconciliation is the center of our work."
First Mennonite Church is flavored by traditional and modern hymnody, European classical music, contemporary Christian music, Pentecostal worship style, liturgy, the creative arts, and a spirit of fellowship. At our church you will find seekers and long-time believers. We are an accepting congregation and we strive to see the world through the next person's eyes even as we hold strong convictions. We read the Bible in a variety of ways and we find ourselves always "on the way" in our desire to understand and follow Jesus.
Each Sunday we have two worship services, one at 9:30 a.m. and the other at 12 o'clock noon. The "early" service is in English and the "late" service is bi-lingual. The preaching in the late service is usually in Spanish and translated into English. All the singing is conducted both in Spanish and English. A Sunday School hour is sandwiched between our two worship services with classes for all ages. It happens at 11:00 a.m.
We have a variety of activities across the week. We invite you to join us!
